Our Curriculum

An inclusive, play-based curriculum grounded in connection, curiosity and country

Why Us

Inspired by nature. Led by children.

At Campus Kindergarten, children are at the heart of everything we do. Our childcentred, play-based program offers a rich, responsive and inclusive curriculum that supports each child to learn, grow and belong. We place strong emphasis on social and emotional development, physical development, language and literacy, and STEAM, recognising that children learn best when they feel safe, supported and deeply engaged. Our dedicated team of teachers and educators are passionate, highly skilled and committed to supporting children to thrive as confident, capable learners. Through strong relationships, thoughtful planning and responsive teaching, they nurture each child’s strengths, interests and individual learning journey. Our beautiful natural setting is more than a backdrop — it forms the core of our curriculum and pedagogy. Children learn through meaningful play and exploration in nature, fostering curiosity, creativity, resilience and a strong connection to the world around them. Through play, relationships and nature-based learning, we support children to build strong foundations for lifelong learning.

The Early Years Learning Framework

The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) guides our curriculum and teaching practice at Campus Kindergarten. It supports a play-based, inclusive approach that values relationships, children’s voices and individual strengths. Guided by the EYLF, our educators create meaningful learning experiences that support children’s wellbeing, learning and development, building strong foundations for lifelong learning.

QLD Kindergarten Learning Guideline

Both of our kindergarten programs also follow the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), ensuring that every child experiences high-quality, play-based learning in a safe and nurturing environment. Our programs are designed to support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and confidence. By following the QKLG, we provide a consistent and structured framework that prepares children for a successful transition to school while celebrating each child’s individual strengths and interests.

Multi-age Approach

Informed by research highlighting the benefits of multi-age play and the importance of sibling relationships, pre-kindergarten children transition through the Cottonwood room and into the kindergarten yard at 3:30 pm. Through responsive and respectful relationships, educators support children to feel safe, secure and supported as they engage with familiar peers and siblings. Opportunities for learning through play enable children to build respectful and reciprocal relationships while participating in shared multi-age experiences. Through intentional teaching, educators plan and reflect on this practice to strengthen children’s sense of belonging to the broader learning community and support continuity of learning.
