Where Learning Comes to Life Through Play

Welcome to Campus Kindergarten, a not-for-profit kindergarten nurturing and supporting children and families since 1971

Located on the grounds of the University of Queensland, we offer high-quality early childhood education and care to families from the wider Brisbane community.
Licensed for 65 children per day, our service includes one Pre-Kindergarten and two Kindergarten rooms. We welcome children from 2.5 years of age through to school age, providing a rich, responsive and play-based program that supports each child’s learning, wellbeing and development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Our learning spaces include three beautiful, light-filled rooms that open onto expansive natural outdoor environments. These spaces invite exploration, creativity and connection with the natural world, offering opportunities for discovery, risk-taking, collaboration and deep engagement in play. Our environment reflects our commitment to belonging, sustainability and meaningful learning experiences.

Our Rooms

Pre-Kindergarten

The Jacaranda Room

Welcome to the Jacaranda Room, a dedicated space for our little ones aged 2.5 years and older. Our highly qualified teachers and educators provide the personalised attention your child needs to flourish, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). We believe in a holistic approach, weaving together high-quality care and education to nurture social-emotional wellbeing alongside physical, cognitive, and language development. We enjoy the best of both worlds in the Jacaranda room: a beautiful, light-filled sanctuary and exclusive access to our own spacious natural yard. This dedicated outdoor space allows our group, that is capped at 16 children per day, to explore nature safely and at their own pace. By weaving education and care together, our passionate and inspiring team fosters social-emotional wellbeing while using our beautiful outdoor space to ignite curiosity and connection to country.

Kindergarten

The Banksia & Cottonwood Rooms

Our Banksia and Cottonwood rooms provide an approved Queensland Kindergarten program guided by the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) designed to prepare children for a successful transition to school.
These rooms are uniquely designed as interconnecting spaces, allowing children the freedom to move between environments, engage in collaborative projects, and expand their social circles across both groups. This layout fosters a strong sense of community and provides a much broader range of peer interactions.
Both rooms open out onto a large, shared natural yard that acts as an “outdoor classroom.” Some of the highlights of our kindy yard include the Cottonwood tree: a majestic climbing tree that offers a safe, natural challenge for developing gross motor skills and risk-assessment, the bike track: a dedicated path for high-energy play, helping children develop coordination and physical confidence, expansive sandpit: a central hub for sensory play, engineering, and collaborative social building and plenty of space to run for unhurried exploration and active group games.
The Kindergarten rooms are capped at 22 children per day with a team of highly professional and passionate teachers and educators to support children to flourish.
